Small Moves Services
Sterling Van Lines specializes in small moves — the transport of small items, or a limited set of items, to another destination. Small moves can involve all sorts of methods and items, a few of which we've touched on below. (For general information, go to Small Moves.)

Air Freight
Air Freight in the United States almost always means deferred air freight — which means that it does not travel by air but by common carrier (a freight truck) for rapid transport to your destination city. Air Freight by real air is extremely expensive and it is usually not used for household goods.
Air freight is often less expensive than blanket-wrap full moving service. If you are moving a small amount of fairly square furniture, this method may save you money.
The skill in sending something by air freight is in the packaging. Handing your precious items over to a freight company to ship loose items is very risky. Unless your shipper is skilled in packaging your items so well that a gorilla can't hurt them, don't do it!
Sterling Van Lines' personnel are expert at packaging items so that they arrive in the same condition as you entrusted them.

Moving Antiques
We move many antiques for EBAY customers, and there's a reason for that: Sterling personnel are experts at moving antiques.
As experience antique movers, we know that antiques must be handled with skilled, special care. Your items will be padded with paper, wrapped in blankets and then shrink-wrapped for protection before being placed in our moving van and strapped or protected to ensure they arrive just like we found them. Some pieces may also require crating or packaging, which we can also offer.

Aloha from Maui,
Just received my Piano and wanted to say how impressed I was with the care and attention to detail in the packing and shipping. Not only did the piano arrive safe and sound, but it seems to still be in tune!
Thanks again -- (or as we say here in the islands -- 'Mahalo') Hope you have continued success.
Capt. R.S.Coon

Moving Pianos
We're also experience at moving pianos — in fact, Sterling Van Lines has been moving pianos for over 3 decades and we've moved pianos for EBAY customers all over the United States.
Like antiques, pianos must be moved with care, so it pays to make sure your "piano mover" is really a piano mover! Moving pianos requires a special skill. Baby grand pianos on up through concert grand pianos require piano boards and special packing for the hardware. Moving larger pianos also requires more men.

Moving Motorcycles
Sterling Van Lines has moved motorcycles and other vehicles for EBAY customers all over the United States.
Motorcycles must be padded in blankets and secured to the side of the moving vans with special straps so as to not damage the parts of the motorcycle. When moving motorcycles in this fashion, crating is unnecessary — saving you, the customer, money. Crating is necessary when the motorcycle must travel rapidly across the U.S. or if it is being sent overseas to international destinations.

Moving Oddball Items
Sterling Van Lines personnel are experts at moving and protecting your special, out-of-the-ordinary items.
We once moved a 10-foot piece of glass from California to Canada for arrival in perfect condition. This piece required very special handling: a special custom crate made specifically for this piece along with skilled packaging.
